Anne-Marie Vanier
Director
Ms. Anne-Marie Vanier holds a degree in actuarial science from Université Laval and an MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University. She is a Chartered Director as well as a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Ms. Vanier is a veteran board director and former insurance executive with over 30 years of leadership experience in Canada’s property and casualty insurance sector. Her expertise in governance, risk management, economic capital, actuarial valuation, strategy and regulatory relations spans both broker and direct distribution models. A recognized advocate for inclusion, mentorship and community leadership, she is committed to advancing diversity and professional development within the industry.
She is currently serving on the boards of LawPRO (Vice-Chair), Arch Insurance Canada, GPIC Insurance Company and Gore Mutual, where she chairs the Risk Committee. She is also a member of the Departmental Audit Committee for Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.
Previously, she held senior executive and appointed actuarial roles at Aviva Canada, RBC Insurance, Lombard Canada and Guardian Insurance, where she oversaw major portfolio integrations, capital optimization initiatives and profitability turnarounds.
In January 2026, Ms. Vanier was appointed to the boards of directors of Beneva Mutual and Beneva Group as well as the Risk Management, Ethics, and IT Committee.
