Cruising in the safe lane

Replacement insurance is coverage that’s separate from your car insurance. It’s sold by dealerships when you purchase a vehicle.

Available for periods of up to seven years,1 this coverage can be purchased for your car or recreational vehicle.

Deductible and car rental expenses

In the event of loss, whether total or partial, replacement insurance covers the deductible imposed by your main insurer as well as rental expenses.2

Total loss (accident or theft)

If your vehicle is new or a demonstrator, it could be replaced by a new model of the current year with similar features, equipment and accessories.

If your vehicle is used, you may receive a lump sum equal to the marked-up value of your vehicle less the amount reimbursed by the primary insurer.

For a new vehicle or demonstrator, parts that cannot be repaired will be replaced with new original manufacturer parts.
