Perspective is an individual insurance plan that acts as a safety net after your participation in a group insurance plan ends.

It can happen for many reasons: if you retire, your job ends, a dependent loses coverage. In any case, Perspective is there to make sure you're covered!

What does Perspective cover?

Quick view of coverage

This coverage supplements the public plan to cover various expenses related to healthcare, illness or accident, such as:

  • Prescription drugs that are not eligible for coverage under your public drug plan
  • Hospital fees
  • Several medical services such as ambulance transportation or nursing care
  • Diagnostic services such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or laboratory tests
  • Several other medical expenses such as respirators or hearing aids

Travel insurance is included in our three levels of protection (described below!) and covers:

  • Trip cancelation or interruption fees

  • Expenses incurred in the event of a sudden and unexpected illness or accident

You can further complete your protection by opting for an optional coverage supplement that covers:

  • Excess amounts on prescription drugs eligible under your drug plan
  • Vision care
  • Dental care

Not a fan of medical questions? We get that.

How do I enrol? Enroling in Perspective is as easy as 1-2-3.

  • Enrol within the 60-day deadline

Fill out the enrolment form and send it to us

  • After 60 days, it gets a little tricky...

We'd rather be up front with you: if you miss the 60-day deadline, insuring you won't be as easy. You'll need to complete a declaration of insurability (a medical questionnaire), and your enrolment is not guaranteed.

If your application for enrolment is submitted more than six months after the end of your participation in a group plan, it will unfortunately be denied.

This is a scenario best avoided, so cover your bases as soon as possible.

  • Wait for written confirmation

Once we review your file, we’ll send you written confirmation of enrolment by mail.
